May 05,2025During the use and management of grease, it is crucial to ensure the monitoring of its performance and status. Grease is affected by multiple factors such as temperature, pressure and friction during use, which may cause changes in its physical and chemical properties. Therefore, regular inspection of the status of grease is the basis for maintaining the normal operation of equipment. By observing the color, consistency and smell of grease, its suitability for use can be preliminarily evaluated. Ideally, grease should have a uniform color and suitable consistency. If the grease is found to have discoloration, particles or oil-water separation, it indicates that the grease may be contaminated or degraded and needs to be replaced immediately. At the same time, the change in the smell of grease can also reflect its status. Abnormal odor may indicate overheating or oxidation of the grease.
The filling amount of grease should also not be ignored. The appropriate filling amount can ensure that the bearing forms an effective lubricating film during operation, thereby preventing wear and overheating. Generally speaking, the filling amount of grease should be controlled between 30% and 50% of the internal space of the bearing. Excessive grease may cause the internal temperature of the bearing to rise, increase friction and energy consumption, while insufficient filling will cause poor lubrication and increase the wear rate. Therefore, during the inspection process, it is necessary to ensure that the filling amount of grease meets the relevant standards and adjust it when necessary.
Regular monitoring of the temperature of the 69 series bearings is also an indispensable part of grease management. The operating temperature of the bearing directly reflects its lubrication status and working efficiency. Abnormal temperature rise is usually a manifestation of insufficient lubrication or grease deterioration, which may cause bearing damage. By installing a temperature sensor or using an infrared thermometer, the temperature change of the bearing can be monitored in real time. The normal operating temperature should be within the working range of the grease. If it exceeds this range, measures should be taken in time, such as adding or replacing grease.
Checking the vibration status of the bearing is also an important means to ensure its normal operation. During the operation of the bearing, if abnormal vibration occurs, it may be caused by factors such as poor lubrication, wear or improper installation. Using a vibration analyzer, the vibration frequency and amplitude of the bearing can be monitored to detect potential faults in time. In the vibration inspection, the frequency characteristics related to bearing defects should be focused on. If abnormal vibration is found, it is necessary to stop the machine immediately for inspection, find out the cause and take corresponding measures.
Finally, checking the sealing status is also an indispensable part of grease management. A good seal can effectively prevent the intrusion of external dust, moisture and other contaminants, ensuring the cleanliness and effectiveness of the grease. Regularly check the integrity of the seal ring and whether there are signs of wear or aging to ensure a good sealing effect. If the seal is found to be damaged, it should be replaced in time to prevent the grease from being contaminated or leaking.
